It may be 2010 but chuck wagons still exist, especially here in Texas. Eddie Eppler shows us what people on a chuck wagon trail would normally eat. Plus, we meet the Lone Star Cowgirls and find out how we can ride a longhorn.
Houston, TX – Supercuts professional stylists will display their experience and talent as they attempt to break a Guinness World Record for most haircuts in a 24-hour period, from Friday, October 9 at 12 p.m. to Saturday, October 10 at 12 p.m. at the Midtown Supercuts - 2509 Bagby St. at McGowen St. - in Houston, Texas.
Ten of Supercuts’ veteran stylists, with a combined 111 years of styling experience, will be part of the record attempt, displaying their ability to give a super cut every time.
During the event’s regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 9 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, Midtown Supercuts is offering haircuts for just $10, and is donating $5 from every cut to the YMCA of Greater Houston. Haircuts performed after hours, from 9 p.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Saturday, will be free of charge. Supercuts will also donate $5 from each of these cuts to the YMCA.
The team will be scheduling haircuts during the 24 hour period and will also welcome walk-in customers.
“Breaking a Guinness World Record gives us an opportunity to showcase the technical skills of the Supercuts stylists while giving back to the community that supports us through the YMCA,” said Terri Gilstrap, regional operations manager. “Having been in Houston for over 25 years, Supercuts thought this would be a fun, innovative way to help out our friends and neighbors.”
The current record for most haircuts in a 24-hour period is held by a group of stylists in Sweden with 319 haircuts in 2007. A licensed Guinness World Records® adjudicator will be on site in Houston during the Supercuts event to verify the world record attempt.
